Selection Criteria

The rewarded research must - in an international perspective - be outstanding. It is the task of the Selection Committee to decide in each individual case, what characterizes the research as outstanding and therefore deserves this large prize. 

Without any requirements in terms of affiliation and without any reference to formal retirement, nominees should be expected to be able to continue their contribution to brain research for at least a further decade.

Furthermore, Prize winners are expected to interact with Danish brain researchers e.g. through lectures, master classes, seminars, summer schools and exchange programmes for researchers or other activities agreed with and financially supported by the Foundation.
