 Anders BjörklundMD, PhD Anders Björklund is professor of histology and section chief at the Wallenberg Neuroscience Center, Lund University. He is an international leader in studies of reparative and neuro-protective mechanisms in the CNS and has pioneered the development of techniques for cell replacement and repair in the mammalian CNS. His team at the WNC has led the development of cell replacement therapies for Parkinson´s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. Prof. Björklund is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the recipient of numerous awards, including the Zulch Prize from the Max-Planck Society in Germany, the Anders Jahre Prize for Medical Research from Oslo University in Norway, the Göran Gustafsson Prize from the Swedish Academy of Sciences, and Lundbeck Foundation Nordic Award for Outstanding Research.
